Surely, there are few people who do not know what brick is. Without exaggerating, I can say that this is the most common building material on the planet. So, a little useful recommendations on the use of bricks when erecting buildings.
Brick for cladding
If you are looking for a brick for the facade – first of all, control the correspondence of color and size. The minimum permissible thickness of the brick itself for the facade should be at least 6 cm. Everything that does not correspond to these parameters is marriage.
Store brick in a convenient place protected from influences from the outside. Do not allow water or dirt – the brick is poorly cleaned. Well, of course, special care is necessary when loading and unloading-you should not take several pallets with bricks at once. And it does not matter if it is loaded by people or technology. If it is already destined to drop it, then let only one pallet, and not all at the same time. Brick – material easily.
When laying bricks, use only good, specially designed dry mixtures for this. No need to invent. And do not cover a brick wall with any substances – it will lose its breathable properties. And the evaporation of moisture will decrease.
Ceramic brick
Ceramic brick is the most popular type of brick. It is made of clay and then burned at high temperature. As a rule, red clay is used for the manufacture of such bricks, this is how the well-known red-orange coloring of brick is obtained. Nevertheless, each batch of brick has its own tone, therefore it is necessary to have this species when decorating.
There are a large number of ceramic brick classifications within their type. For example, brick is ordinary, stove and front, full -bodied brick and hollow, with a smooth or embossed surface.
But silicate brick, unlike ceramic brick, is done not by means of firing, but due to special processing in the autoclave – the effects of saturated water vapor.
Such a brick also has several classifications: it can also be hollow, holey or full -bodied. Also, silicate brick differs in appearance: full -colored tinted, porous, brick with various textures.
Most often, silicate brick is obtained white, but if you add different shades in the process of production of various alkalis and dyes. Many say, and not without reason that silicate brick is worse than ceramic. In particular, it is not so resistant to high temperatures and to the influence of moisture. In addition, such brick cannot be used when laying foundations, chimneys, stoves, fireplaces, boiler rooms, boiler and furnace pipes.
