If interior doors sag
Today, interior doors made of natural massif, which are quite durable and beautiful are in great demand and popularity. If you decide to buy interior doors, then you need to know this: because of your fullness, and accordingly not a small weight, they have a serious load on the loops, as a result of which the whole structure begins to sag in the most simple way. In order to delete this problem, it is not at all necessary to pay money immediately for calling a specialized master, t. to. You can fix it yourself.
The most common cause of such sagging is usually a weakening of self -tapping screws in the hinges. Due to the large loads that occur during operation, the screws gradually emerge from the holes, which in turn become unusable. Of course, it is possible to solve this non-big problem in ordinary home, and then in a few rather simple ways.
If the damage to these holes is not significant, then you can simply use longer screws, naturally previously strengthening them with carpentry glue and matches. Before you begin to restore holes, you must very carefully remove the loops, and then a thin wooden plate (or ordinary match) must be wetted in a pole and installed in a hole so that it is pressed to one of the walls. If the holes are too much destroyed, then to restore it, you need to use several matches (wooden plates) at once. Then place them along the circumference along the walls. After that, for several hours, the glue must be allowed to dry, and only after that you can screw longer screws.
But this method is not always a solution to the issue, t. to. The cause of sagging doors can be not only weak screws, but the door box itself can be weak. In this case, the solution can only be the installation of loops to another place in order to more evenly distribute the load on them and on the box. The upper loop must be installed above the place in which it was, respectively, the lower – below. The installation location can be marked with a simple pencil, and then a chisel must gently hide the deepening of the desired size. With the help of this method, of course, you can get rid of sagging, but unfortunately it is not for a long time, so for the best and better result, you need to change the door box with weak, for a new one – more powerful.
Of course, it must be borne in mind that the cause of sagging interior doors may be the loops themselves. In the process of use under the action of movement and load, pins located inside the loops are erased. As a result of this, the door may stop closing normally. But this can also be easily solved. Enough only on the pins to put on metal round washers of the corresponding thickness. This maneuver allows you to easily increase the necessary height of the loops.
