You decided to make repairs and, finally, change the wallpaper. If the option with wallpaper in the bedroom, nursery or in the kitchen often tells the tradition (blue in the bedroom, orange in the kitchen and pink or blue in the nursery), then choosing wallpaper for the hall is often quite problematic.
Today we will give you some useful tips on how to choose wallpaper in the hall.
South or North?
So, going to the store for new wallpapers, before combining the wallpaper in the hall, you should remember which direction (south or north) the windows of your room come. This is due to the fact that if, for example, you have chosen wallpaper of bright red or yellow, and the windows overlook south, then being in such a room will be uncomfortable, since sunlight, mixing with bright colors of the wallpaper, will beat the eye.
And vice versa, if you prefer too cold colors (blue, gray), and the windows overlook the north, then the room will be dark and uncomfortable all the time. So the “northern” windows are suitable for warm gamma (yellow, ocher, red, orange, sand), and “southern” – cold (blue, green, gray, dark brown, burgundy). White is neutral, so it is suitable in both cases.
Choose the material
It should be remembered that the wallpaper is different. Paper, vinyl, textile, non -woven, photo wallpaper, for painting. All of them have different characteristics. For example, non -woven ones are much more durable than ordinary paper, microcracks are well masked, but they do not smooth out significant wall flaws. For such wallpapers, you need a special glue that is applied to the wall (and not on the wallpaper).
Vinyl wallpaper are in several forms. Structural without embossing on the basis of foamed vinyl look original and unusual, close irregularities, give an exclusive style. Wallpapers of hot embossing are presented in several types: heavy vinyl, compact vinyl, inhibiting and silkography. Almost all of them (except for silk -screen printing) are unusually durable, steadfastly tolerate wet cleaning and exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Silkography can only be glued to perfectly aligned walls.
We take into account the features of the room
It has long been known that all light shades visually increase the object, and all dark ones reduce. So if the room is very small, it is better to choose wallpaper for the color of furniture and prefer white, light beige, salmon, light blue, lilac. If, on the contrary, you are too spacious and uncomfortable, all dark shades will suit: burgundy, gray, brown, blue. An important detail: the drawing on the wallpaper can also “steal” a little space, so if the room is small, do not take the wallpaper in a flower (even white).
What Feng Shui says
According to ancient Chinese teachings, any room is divided into eight conditional zones, each of which corresponds to its own color. So, for example, if your hall is in the southeast (wealth sector), non-woven wallpapers for the hall of green, purple, lilac, blue and blue are suitable. If the room goes south (glory sector), shades of red, pink, yellow, golden and orange are appropriate.
The northern side (career sector) needs dark blue, white and black shades, Western (children and creativity sector)-in gray, silver and golden colors. The northeast (knowledge sector) needs beige, yellow, sandy colors, southwest (love sector)-in pink, red and beige. The eastern side (health sector) requires design in green colors, and northwest (assistants sector) in gray, golden and silver shades.
