If the ceiling is covered with water -based paint, then you will have to make more efforts. Such a coating is hydroscopic, so you just can’t do with water.
Method 1: soak the ceiling abundantly with water, repeat after 20 minutes. Then arrange a draft in the room. Under the influence of cold air flows, the coating will begin to swell and easily clean it with a spatula. The bloating effect will go much more intensively, if instead of water you will use a warm and liquid fabric.
Method 2: Do not remove paint from the entire area of the ceiling. Back the surface for voids. Gently scraped off the exfolved paint with a trowel.
After cleaning the ceiling, it is recommended to treat the surface from the spots of rust and subtexts. Use copper sulfate, prepare 5 solution and wash the ceiling thoroughly.
Spots that are difficult to remove are excreted by a 3 solution of hydrochloric acid. Another option is a mixture of 1 part of the olifa, 20 parts of lime tone, 50 ml. denatured alcohol. The resulting solution is applied to pollution for 15-20 minutes.
Tip: It is recommended to perform antiseptic treatment by 2 times: this will prevent spots on fresh whitewashing.
The alignment of the ceiling
As a rule, a thin -layer putty is used to align complex surfaces: it has good adhesion properties, plastic, smoothly lays down and easily grinds. Oil-clay-based putty-pobel is also an excellent option to eliminate minor defects. It is applied with a brush, a spatula or roller on the entire surface of the ceiling.
Tip: Before applying putty, the deep cracks are upset with a trowel to increase the clutch area and fill them with the prepared composition.
When the putty dries, align with a fine -grained skin the signs, then walk over the entire surface – the ceiling will become smooth.
Primer
The first layer of primer is performed by adhesive products. After 4-6 hours, the second layer is placed; To do this, dilute the paint, which is planned to cover the ceiling to a liquid consistency and apply a thin layer.
The main stage
After the preparatory work is completed, the ceiling must be dried within 24-48 hours.

2. The main whitewash is carried out by a roller. For high -quality work, apply 3 layers of water -based paint:
1 – from the window to the opposite side;
2 – perpendicular to the 1st layer;
3 – in the direction of the light flow.
Important: each subsequent layer is applied after the previous one dries, after 6-12 hours.
How to paint
Pour paint into the bath. Wet the roller and draw several times along the ribbed surface, distribute the paint and remove the excess. We make the first pass, smears should be from left to right, 3-5 meters long, slightly overlapping. Make sure that there are no visible transitions, for this, the roller can be moved in W-shaped. If excess water -based paint appears at the joints, remove them with a dry roller.
Tip: Apply each subsequent layer with a new roller, so you will achieve a uniformly painted surface, without coating defects.
To see even minor non -coloring, after each passage with a roller, consider the ceiling at different angles.
Drying
Try to prevent sunlight in the room, this will help to avoid spots on the ceiling. Do not dry the paint forcibly, including fans and heaters.
