Varnish is a solution of film -forming substances, which in the future, when evaporating a solvent or water, form a solid, homogeneous, opaque film. Water -based varnishes dry quickly and practically do not smell. If the base is alkyd, the drying process is delayed, they can immediately be identified by a sustainable smell. They are more persistent.
By purpose, they are divided:
Parquet varnishes – use for application to wooden structures (doors, window frames, railings and parquet). They have many advantages, they dry quickly and have wear resistance, especially like to use water -based varnishes (they dry quickly, there is no smell and not flammable.). Tikkuril varnishes are presented in a wide assortment in construction markets.
Furniture –
“Deck varnishes” – this variety of varnishes is best used, where there is the possibility of contacting the surface with water. Thanks to its specific properties, it is applied to any wooden surface and is very resistant to moisture
Ground varnishes – despite the fact that they are called varnishes, still their main purpose is the initial processing. Applying it evenly to the surface, they align all minor defects.
Publishing varnishes-usually made on the basis of organic resins, and easily impregnate parquet, giving it the desired shade and shine, while strengthening the surface.
Types of varnishes:
Half -layer water -soluble varnish based on acrylic is used for internal work and has such qualities as wear resistance and chemical resistance. Used for application for furniture, doors, toys, ceiling and wall panels, etc. D.
Universal glossy varnish – is used for application on the surface inside the building in rooms (floors, doors, window frames, furniture)
For surfaces subject to constant exposure to sunlight, it is recommended to use a half -machine water -reduced acrylate varnish, which includes particles that protect the material from exposure to ultraviolet rays. They are treated with surfaces from almost any material (wood, brick, concrete, etc.) indoors.
Glossy alkyd – is used purely for wooden surfaces, fiberboard and chipboard. Its main purpose is the processing of wooden floors, walls and other similar surfaces exclusively indoors.
Bitches that can very often be seen in processed wood material are highlighted, which negatively affects the quality of wood surface processing. To solve this problem, they developed a special variety of varnishes – varnishes for knots. They prevent the process of releasing resins and are suitable for the use of both indoors and outside.
When working with varnishes, remember, they include substances harmful to the body, so you should always adhere to safety rules and work in personal protective equipment (gloves, respirator).
